About Me

I established Dorian Photographics in 1986 offering a full range of Art, Architectural, Commercial, Events and Portrait photography. During the 35 years that Dorian Photographics has been operating I have built a substantial reputations as one Canberra’s leading Art photographers, working with renown local, interstate and international Artist and Galleries. So what about me. Being a Canberra boy I did my photography studies at the Canberra Institute of Technology with a Certificate of Photography from 1979-82 and an Associate Diploma of Arts in Photography in 1988. I am an Accredited Professional Photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, which I joined in 1985 and gained my AIPP Associateship in 1992, Master of Photography in 1987 and Grand Master of Photography in 2013. Through my dedication and voluntary work with the AIPP and the Australian Professional Photography Awards, 1992-2017, I have been honoured as an Honorary Life Member of the AIPP in 2002, an Honorary Fellow of the AIPP in 2007 and Fellow of the AIPP in 2015. In addition I am a Master of Photography in the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography.

That’s all good news but what about my photography skills. Well I have been awarded the ACT Professional Photographer of the Year in 1991, 1997, 1998, 2005, 2007, 2013. I have won the titles of ACT Architectural, Commercial, Illustrative, Landscape, Portrait and Travel Photographer of the Year over numerous years as well as The AIPP Australian Photo Book of the Year Award in 2009.

My personal work shows my passion for Landscapes, Urbanscapes, Architecture and Travel. I exhibit my work as often as I can but please give yourself a treat and view my Gallery and yes they are all for sale so you too can have a lifetime of pleasure viewing my work on your walls.
